The district is seeking a part-time, dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to serve in a shared role between two elementary buildings, focusing primarily on the use of flexible service models to deliver school-wide speech improvement initiatives and, as needed, delivering IEP-driven services.
Qualifications: New York State Certification, Speech and Language Disabilities & SED Fingerprint Clearance.

General Responsibilities: The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) will be responsible for supporting and enhancing communication skills for elementary students across two buildings. This role will have a dual focus:
Building-Level Speech Improvement:

Collaborate with classroom teachers, intervention specialists, and building administrators to design, implement, and monitor tiered speech-language interventions within the general education environment.

Lead school-wide screenings (e.g., articulation, language, literacy, fluency) to identify students in need of targeted support.

Provide consultation, coaching, and professional development to faculty and support staff on best practices for fostering effective communication skills (e.g., vocabulary development, oral language strategies, pragmatic language supports).

Coordinate flexible service delivery models that provide small-group or classroom-based push-in/pull-out sessions aimed at improving speech intelligibility, receptive/expressive language, early literacy, and social language skills for groups of at-risk learners.
IEP-Driven Services:

Conduct comprehensive speech-language evaluations and screenings, analyze and organize results, to create and communicate functional, data-driven reports (e.g., oral language assessments, phonological processing measures, articulation inventories).

Participate in CSE (Committee on Special Education) meetings, collaborating with parents, teachers, and related-service providers to develop and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for eligible students.

Deliver direct, individualized therapy in accordance with each student’s IEP, using evidence-based approaches (e.g., phonological awareness strategies, language-based interventions, strengths-based neuro-diversity-affirming approaches, augmentative/alternative communication, where applicable).

Track student progress through ongoing data collection, adjusting intervention plans as needed, and communicating results to families and interdisciplinary team members.
Work Schedule: 0.4 FTE
Additional Duties: Performs other related tasks as assigned by the direct report and/or Superintendent.
