RONDOUT VALLEY CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking multiple district-wide SCHOOL MONITORS.  
 
Qualifications: An ideal candidate for the School Monitor position will demonstrate a sense of responsibility and reliability; they should take their duties seriously, with a patient and friendly approach.  A School Monitor should be a good communicator, and a respectful, punctual and positive role model.  Clearance from the State Education Department based upon fingerprinting and a criminal history background check. (http://www.nysed.gov/educator-integrity/fingerprinting)
 
Salary: $19/hour
 
General Responsibilities: Assists in supervising recreation, lunch periods, study halls, etc. as per district needs.  This is a 10-month position, from the first day of school through the last day of school.  
 
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, when school is in session. This position requires a commitment of 3 hours per day. Specific shift times will be scheduled in alignment with the operational needs of the school.
 
Additional Duties: Performs other related tasks as assigned by the direct report and/or Superintendent.       
           



Rondout Valley Central School District encompasses more than 150 square miles of rural landscape.  The District has 5 buildings which include:

  • Two elementary schools, grades K-3 (Marbletown & Kerhonkson)
  • One intermediate school (grades 4-6) and one junior high school (grades 7-8), which are housed in one building
  • One high school
  • One district office
