Job Description

RONDOUT VALLEY CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking a Special Education Coordinator. 
 
Qualifications: 

  • NYS School District Administrator (SDA); NYS School District Leader (SDL); NYS School Administrator Supervisor (SAS);
  • Master’s degree in special education or related field;
  • Experience as a CPSE/CSE chair;
  • Experience providing special education services to students with disabilities;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Ability to work well with parents, students, teachers, and administrators;
  • Knowledge of Part 200 Regulations.     

Salary: Per Contract

General Responsibilities:  

  • Responsible for chairing/facilitating CPSE/CSE meetings for in and out of district placements;
  • Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and support staff to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Monitors and assures adherence to SED regulations governing procedures for referral, evaluations, IEP development, and placement and review of students;
  • Appropriate reporting (STAC forms) and assisting the Student Support Services Administrator in gathering data for other SED and Federal reports, as needed.  

Additional Duties: Performs other related tasks as assigned by the direct report and/or Superintendent.
