RONDOUT VALLEY CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking an Account Clerk/Typist to support the Director of Facilities and the Buildings & Grounds Department at Rondout Valley CSD.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, accurate, and efficient in maintaining and reviewing financial records. They are skilled in bookkeeping, account balancing, and data entry, with strong organizational abilities and proficiency in office software and equipment. Integrity, sound judgment, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential, along with clear communication and excellent interpersonal skills.
This position falls under the Ulster County Civil Service Title, Account Clerk/Typist, and will be a provisional appointment, awaiting the Ulster County Civil Service examination.
All Civil Service laws, rules and regulations apply. PROVISIONAL APPOINTMENTS can be made when no valid eligible list exists. These positions may be filled by qualified applicants on a provisional basis until such time as an appropriate eligible list can be established. The UC Personnel Department will hold a competitive examination for this title. The provisional employee will be required to compete against all other qualified applicants. A permanent appointment will then be made from the resulting eligible list.
Minimum Qualifications:
A. Successful completion of one (1) year of study at a regionally accredited or New York State registered college, university or business school which included or was supplemented by at least one course in accounting or a related field; OR
B. Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and one (1) year of full-time paid experience, or its part-time equivalent, in the compilation and maintenance of financial accounts and records; OR
C. Two (2) years of full-time paid experience, or its part-time equivalent, as described in B above; OR
D. An equivalent combination of training and experience as indicated in A, B and C above.
Job Duties include but are not limited to:
- Daily attendance/call substitutes/reconcile attendance
- Check and answer emails/phone calls/inquiries
- Communicate with Director of Facilities regarding work orders
- Oversee collection and submission of payroll information
- Purchasing support/ordering
- Accounts payable/budget maintenance
- Vehicle maintenance records/appointments/inspections
- Staff support
- Filing
- Manage facilities calendar, approve facilities use and maintain user accounts, staff coverage for events
- Director of Facilities support as required
Salary: $39,282 - $43,101
Work Schedule: Full-time, 12 months, Monday-Friday, 7am-3pm during the school year. Summer hours are Monday–Thursday, flexible full-time+ shift and Fridays off.
Additional Duties: Performs other related tasks as assigned by the direct report and/or Superintendent.
