The Rondout Valley Central School District is seeking an equity-driven, visionary leader to serve as Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction. This cabinet-level position will guide the district’s instructional vision, ensuring that all students have access to a rigorous, inclusive, and future-ready education.
As a key member of the Superintendent’s leadership team, the Assistant Superintendent will oversee curriculum, instruction, assessment, professional learning, and innovation across the district. This leader will work closely with principals, directors, instructional coaches, and community stakeholders to advance student achievement and equity.
Key Responsibilities

Instructional Leadership: Lead a unified K–12 instructional vision aligned with NYS Learning Standards and district priorities.

Curriculum Development: Oversee design, articulation, and implementation of curriculum across grade levels and content areas.

Data-Driven Improvement: Guide the use of assessments and data analysis to strengthen instructional practices and student outcomes.

Talent Development: Plan and implement professional learning, mentor instructional leaders, and manage the New Teacher & Mentoring program.

Equity & Inclusion: Embed diversity, equity, and inclusion in curriculum, teaching, and district initiatives.

Organizational Leadership: Manage budgets, grants, and district-wide plans (APPR, PD, Strategic Plan).

Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate effectively with the Board of Education, staff, families, and community partners.
Qualifications
Required:
- NYS Administrative Certification — SDL, SAS, NYSed fingerprint clearance

Proven success leading district-level curriculum and professional development initiatives

Deep expertise in curriculum design, instruction, and assessment

Strong leadership, communication, and supervisory skills at the cabinet level

Demonstrated record of improving student outcomes through instructional leadership
Preferred:

Minimum of seven years of progressive leadership experience in K–12 public education

Experience fostering inclusive, student-centered learning environments
