RONDOUT VALLEY CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking two entry-level clerical professionals to join our team at Rondout Valley High School.  

The ideal candidates will be organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling a variety of administrative tasks, including but not limited to data entry, filing, answering phones, and providing general office support.  Strong communication skills, excellent customer service and a willingness to learn are essential.

This position falls under the Ulster County Civil Service Title, Typist, and will be a provisional appointment, awaiting the Ulster County Civil Service examination.  

All Civil Service laws, rules and regulations apply. PROVISIONAL APPOINTMENTS can be made when no valid eligible list exists.  These positions may be filled by qualified applicants on a provisional basis until such time as an appropriate eligible list can be established. The UC Personnel Department will hold a competitive examination for this title. The provisional employee will be required to compete against all other qualified applicants. A permanent appointment will then be made from the resulting eligible list.

The Ulster County Civil Service Exam is scheduled for June 7, 2025.  APPLICATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED THROUGH THE ULSTER COUNTY EMPLOYMENT/EXAMINATION PORTAL BY 11:59 PM ON MAY 7, 2025, FOR THE JUNE 7, 2025, TEST DATE.

Salary: Per Contract
 
Work Schedule: Full-time, 12 month, Monday-Friday, 7am–3pm or 7:30am-3:30pm during the school year.  Summer hours are Monday–Thursday, flexible full-time+ shift and Fridays off.  
 
Additional Duties: Performs other related tasks as assigned by the direct report and/or Superintendent.
