RONDOUT VALLEY CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking two full-time Custodial Workers.  The ideal candidates will have knowledge of building cleaning practices, materials and equipment.

Salary: Per Contract
 
General Responsibilities: School building cleaning

Work Schedule: 1st shift, 5:30am-2pm and 2nd shift, 2pm-10:30pm, Monday–Friday during the school year.  Summer hours are 6am to 4:30pm, Monday–Thursday.

Additional Duties: Performs other related tasks as assigned by the direct report and/or Superintendent.

Teaching Assistant

Rondout Valley Central School District is seeking a NYS Certified Teaching Assistant at Kerhonkson Elementary School.  

Ideal candidates are versatile and able to work in general education and special class settings. Teaching assistants support academic instruction, run small group learning centers, and support student needs. Willingness to learn, collaborate with a team, and have fun are essential qualities.

Qualifications:

* Current NYS Teaching Assistant Certification
* Therapeutic Crises interventions (TCI).  Verbal and physical de-escalation, which includes a written, verbal, and physical component test.
* SED Fingerprint Clearance 

Salary: - Per Contract
 
General Responsibilities:   

* Supporting student learning and social-emotional development
* Redirecting behavior
* Providing services to a student on a one-to-one basis and/or assisting classroom teacher reinforcing instruction
* Monitoring/Supervising students during lunch and recess
* Toileting
* Performs other related tasks as assigned by the direct report and/or Superintendent.   

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30am - 3:40pm

2025/2026 - Instructional Coach

Rondout Valley Central School District is seeking a knowledgeable, collaborative, and student-centered Instructional Coach to support instructional improvement across grades K–12, with a strong focus on grades 4–12, particularly in ELA and/or Math. Under the direct supervision of the Director of Curriculum, the Instructional Coach will work with classroom teachers, interventionists, and school and district leaders to strengthen high-impact teaching practices, support the implementation of new curriculum, and promote data-informed decision-making.

Qualifications: 

  • Master’s degree in Literacy, Reading, Curriculum & Instruction, or a related field.
  • Valid NYS teaching certification, preferably in ELA, Math, Literacy, or Special Education with experience in upper elementary 4-6 and/or 7-8.
  • Minimum of 5 years of successful classroom teaching experience, especially in grades 4-6 and/or 7-8.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Science of Reading and structured literacy practices.
  • Experience supporting adult learners and delivering professional development.
  • Strong understanding of the NYS Next Generation Learning Standards.
  • Skilled in using diagnostic reading assessments and student data to guide instruction.
  • Experience implementing new curriculum and instructional initiatives.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated teacher leadership (e.g., team leader, mentor, curriculum committee).
  • Experience supporting MTSS/RTI frameworks and intervention systems.
  • Familiarity with UDL, The Writing Revolution, Amplify ELA, and enVision Math.
  • Ability to analyze data in partnership with instructional leaders to develop strategic instructional priorities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience coaching or mentoring teachers.
  • Training or certification in evidence-based reading programs and the Science of Reading
  • Background in both ELA and Math instruction.
  • Flexibility to support instruction across all grade levels, K–12.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide job-embedded instructional coaching through co-teaching, co-planning, and lesson modeling.
  • Deliver professional development aligned with district initiatives, including the Science of Reading and structured literacy.
  • Provide professional development on all district PD days and as needed throughout the school year.
  • Support implementation and ongoing use of enVision Math and Amplify ELA (Grades 6–8) curricula.
  • Guide teachers in integrating The Writing Revolution framework into content-area instruction.
  • Promote inclusive and accessible practices grounded in Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles.
  • Support teachers in differentiating instruction and implementing effective Tier 1 and Tier 2 interventions.
  • Assist in the rollout and monitoring of structured literacy programs (e.g., Orton-Gillingham).
  • Collaborate with the Director of Data to analyze district, school, and student-level data to set strategic instructional goals.
  • Use data sources (e.g., FastBridge) to inform instruction and intervention planning.
  • Contribute to the development and progress monitoring of Academic Intervention Services (AIS) within the MTSS framework.
  • Facilitate PLCs, grade-level, and department meetings focused on student learning and instructional best practices.
  • Model effective instructional strategies and provide actionable feedback to support professional growth.
  • Promote a positive, collaborative culture of professional learning.
  • Stay current with research-based instructional practices and curriculum resources.
  • Participate in curriculum and instructional leadership meetings.
  • Be open to training and turnkey delivery of professional learning for district staff.
