Groundskeeper II

RONDOUT VALLEY CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking a full-time Groundskeeper.   
 
Qualifications: One year of full-time paid experience, or its part-time equivalent, in park or grounds maintenance activities.
 
Salary: Per Contract
 
General Responsibilities: Incumbents in this title may perform some or all of the following, as well as other related activities not described.

  • Mows, rakes and cuts grass;
  • Operates grounds keeping machinery and equipment;
  • Performs minor maintenance to grounds keeping machinery and equipment;
  • Maintains athletic fields;
  • Keeps grounds free of litter;
  • Plants and care for trees, shrubs and plants;
  • Removes snow and ice from walks, pathways and steps;
  • May secure buildings and property;
  • May perform routine cleaning and maintenance duties

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m., with the potential for a shift change to 12:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at the discretion of the Director of Facilities.  
 
Additional Duties: Performs other related tasks as assigned by the direct report and/or Superintendent.
